Govt effects major bureaucratic rejig

SHILLONG, Aug 8: The Meghalaya government has implemented a major bureaucratic reshuffle, affecting several senior officers across various departments.
According to the official notification, IFS officer Harish Chandra Chaudhary has been appointed Principal Secretary of the Fisheries department, while IFS officer MBK Reddy will serve as Principal Secretary of the Mining and Geology department. IAS officer Swapnil Tembe has been transferred and posted as Secretary of the Finance department. He is, however, relieved of his responsibilities as State Project Director, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, and Nodal Officer, POSHAN, with effect from the date of handing over charge.
Meanwhile, IAS officer DD Sangma has been given additional charge as Executive Chairman of the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE). IFS officer Gavade Sachin Shankar has been transferred as Joint Secretary of the Planning, Investment Promotion and Sustainable Development Department, in addition to serving as Executive Director of MBDA and Additional Project Director of MegLIFE. IAS officer TG Momin has been given additional charge as Secretary of the Meghalaya Farmers (Empowerment) Commission, while IAS officer Jagdish Chelani will take on the role of State Project Director, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. MCS officer Ashish M Sangma has been posted as Joint Secretary of the Home (Police) and Home (Political) departments and as Secretary to the State Level Public Grievance Committee. MCS officer Banteilang Kharshandi has been assigned additional charge as Nodal Officer for POSHAN, while MCS officer Manaliza Lakiang will take on additional responsibilities as Secretary of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission. MCS officer Clement Phorword Mawkon has been relieved of his duties as Additional Deputy Commissioner in-charge of Mawshynrut Civil Sub-Division, with MCS officer Sanborn Marwein assigned to the post as additional charge.
