Raj Bhavan open to public
The Raj Bhavan, Shillong, will be kept open for the general public on August 14 and 155 from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM on account of Independence Day, Joint Secretary to the Governor of Meghalaya informed in a statement.

Committee
The Governor has announced that a Committee to approve application on Change in Land Use has been constituted in pursuance to a notification (No.UAU.110/2020/Pt.1/74) of the Urban Affairs department with Director of Urban Affairs department as Chairperson, representative from Forest & Environment Department, representative from Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), East Khasi Hills, not below the rank of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) (Revenue) of concerned districts, representative from KHADC, not below the rank of Deputy Secretary, Joint Director (Planning), Urban Affairs department, and representative from MSPCB/PWD not below the rank of Executive Engineer as members, and District Urban Planner as member secretary.

Body found
An unidentified male’s body was found inside the Cricket View Bungalow premises behind Garrison Ground near Harrison Bridge with multiples injuries. In a statement, the police stated that inquest and other formalities were subsequently observed. After completion of post-mortem examination, the body was kept at the morgue room of Civil Hospital, Shillong, for identification and claim. Aged between 28-35 years, the deceased is 5 feet tall, brown-complexioned, has thin build, black hair and was found wearing a navy blue boxer, blue tracksuit pant, violet T-shirt and grey sweat shirt. Concerned persons have been urged to identify the deceased.
