SHILLONG, Aug 12: The Meghalaya government has annulled its request for proposal for the re-development, operation and maintenance of Orchid Lake Resort at Umiam Lake into a 5-Star luxury property.
A notice issue by the Tourism Department said the annulment is being effected owing to material changes in project parameters, including revision in the land extent and inclusion of additional project location.
The department said it intends to initiate a fresh procurement process for the revised scope of the project. “A new RFP will be issued and notified separately in due course,” the notice added.
Meanwhile, in a separate order, the Directorate of Tourism has invited expression of interest from individuals or communities or clans for purchase or lease of minimum 10 acres of land for tourism development purposes in Sohra.
