Shillong, Aug 16: IIM Shillong edged past NEEPCO 1–0 in the Freedom Football friendly held at Madan Heh grounds, Mawlai, on Thursday evening.
Played under steady rain and floodlights, the match saw a large turnout of spectators braving the weather with umbrellas and raincoats. Both sides displayed energy and resilience despite the slippery conditions.
The decisive moment came when IIM Shillong scored the only goal of the contest, sealing a narrow win.
The friendly match was organised as part of the Independence Day celebrations, aimed at fostering camaraderie and community spirit among employees, students and residents.
