JOWAI, Aug 19: Students displayed enthusiastic participation at the 27th Vidyalaya Level Youth Parliament Programme conducted by PM SHRI School, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Jowai, West Jaintia Hills. The event aimed to nurture democratic values, parliamentary etiquette, and leadership skills among students.
The occasion was graced by Jowai MLA, Wailadmiki Shylla, who in his address commended the institution’s efforts in fostering political awareness and civic responsibility among students. He encouraged the youth to actively participate in the democratic process and to uphold the values enshrined in the Constitution of India.
Vice president of Rotary Club Jowai and president of Jaintia Tourism and Environment Society, SK Lato, along with Principal of JNV East Jaintia Hills, Dr RK Saini, attended the programme as special guests. Both lauded the students for their confident and articulate performance during the mock parliamentary session and emphasized the importance of such platforms in shaping future leaders.
The mock session featured spirited debates on current national issues, reflecting the students’ deep understanding of democratic processes and their ability to present diverse viewpoints with respect and responsibility.
Principal of PM SHRI School JNV West Jaintia Hills, Neeraj Kumar, expressed gratitude to the guests, teachers, and students for making the programme a grand success.
