POCSO case against city teacher

SHILLONG, Aug 20: A case has been registered against a teacher under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly molesting a 15-year-old student.
This was confirmed by police following queries about a teacher being assaulted at his residence in Laban by a group of unidentified persons while imparting lessons to students.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening and the accused Sagarmoy Choudhury is admitted and currently undergoing treatment at Woodland Hospital after he sustained injuries during the assault by the victim’s family.
When contacted the family members refused to comment on the incident.
