SHILLONG, Aug 28: Cabinet Minister and Khliehriat MLA, Kyrmen Shylla on Thursday defended the delay in completing the repair work of National Highway 6 to the ongoing rainy season.
Admitting that travellers were facing difficulties owing to the poor condition of the road, Shylla said the contractors assigned with the repair work cannot be blamed for the monsoon.
The High Court of Meghalaya, which is monitoring the progress of the repair work, had directed the NHAI to complete the same by the end of August.
