Shillong, Aug 30: The Meghalaya Roll Ball Association marked National Sports Day 2025 with the successful conduct of the 2nd Sub-Junior Open-to-All Roll Ball Championship at St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, on Saturday.
The tournament saw participation from four districts in the boys’ category – East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, West Jaintia Hills, and East Jaintia Hills – while two districts, West Khasi Hills and East Khasi Hills, competed in the girls’ division.
In the boys’ section, East Khasi Hills emerged champions after overcoming stiff competition, while West Khasi Hills and West Jaintia Hills secured the first and second runner-up positions respectively.
In the girls’ category, West Khasi Hills lifted the trophy, with East Khasi Hills finishing runners-up.
The day-long event featured spirited contests and impressive displays of skill, which drew enthusiastic applause from spectators.
Association officials lauded the young athletes for their performance and emphasised that roll ball is steadily gaining ground in Meghalaya. They reiterated their commitment to nurturing talent and promoting the sport across the state in the years ahead.
