London, Aug 31: Fulham are on the verge of breaking their transfer record with a £34.6 million move for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Kevin.
The 22-year-old Brazilian, who has built a strong reputation in Ukraine, is expected to join the Cottagers in a deal that would eclipse their previous record signing – the £27 million paid to Arsenal for Emile Smith Rowe last summer.Kevin, primarily a left-sided attacker, has been a standout performer for Shakhtar, contributing 17 goals and 10 assists across 57 appearances. His arrival would provide a significant boost to manager Marco Silva, who has been vocal in his frustration over Fulham’s lack of activity in the transfer market.Earlier this month, Silva described the club as “passive” in their recruitment efforts, with French goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte the only arrival from Montpellier so far. The addition of Kevin would be giving Fulham a direct attacking option. (AP)
