WJDSA Football: Mookyrdup, Loomiongkjam register victories

Jowai, Sep 5: The West Jaiñtia District Sports Association (WJDSA) conducted another round of its 3rd Division and 2nd Division football matches at the Kiang Nangbah Stadium, Dongmihsngi, Jowai, on Friday, with four keenly contested fixtures deciding the day’s honours.
In the opening match of the 3rd Division, Mookyrdup edged past Pynthorlangteiñ 1-0, courtesy of a decisive strike by Niwan o Lamare in the 65th minute.
The second encounter saw Loomiongkjam overcome West Madan Mustem 2-1, with Khroo Laloo netting twice in the 30th and 46th minutes. West Madan Mustem pulled one back through Suni oo Tariang in the 50th minute, but it was not enough to prevent defeat.
The third clash featured Pasyih Cultural SC, who rallied from a goal down to beat Pammanik SC 2-1.
Pammanik took an early lead through Jamis Talang in the 8th minute, but Pasyih hit back strongly in the second half with goals from Prechek Bang (47’) and Seiborlang Dkhar (58’) to seal the comeback victory.
Meanwhile, in the day’s only 2nd Division fixture, Giovento Mynso edged Moosalyngkat SC 1-0, thanks to a well-taken goal by Albert Lyngdoh in the 55th minute.
The WJDSA competitions continue to witness exciting contests, with both divisions showcasing competitive football and promising local talent at the Kiang Nangbah Stadium.
With the league stage heating up and teams fighting hard for every point, Friday’s results once again underlined the depth of talent in West Jaiñtia football.
The close scorelines and spirited comebacks kept spectators engaged throughout the day, and as the tournament progresses, fans can expect even fiercer battles as clubs push to secure their place in the next round and stake a claim for district glory.
The matches also highlighted the growing competitiveness across both divisions, with youngsters stepping up to make decisive contributions for their teams.
