SHILLONG, Sep 11: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Thursday debunked reports that VIP impersonator Mebanshem Snaitang was a frequent visitor at the State Secretariat to meet a senior minister.
“I don’t believe that statement. I was also trying to ask my colleagues and even politicians whether you are close to this man or not but nobody knows him. So don’t just come to any conclusion,” Tynsong said, reacting to reports that Snaitang frequently visited the Secretariat to meet a senior minster.
“Even if you are close to A, B, or C, you have to go by the prescribed norms and rules,” he stated.
Mebanshem Snaitang, who was recently arrested along with a dozen bodyguards posing as law enforcement personnel armed with air guns, is alleged to have close links with top politicians of the state, and is reportedly a regular visitor to a senior cabinet minister at the Secretariat.
