NEW DELHI, Sep 15: The body of Rinku B. Marak, a young employee of Meghalaya House who breathed his last this morning at Fortis Hospital here, was flown to Meghalaya on Monday night for the last rites.
Marak, aged 40, was unmarried. He is survived by his elderly mother and one sister.
The Principal Resident Commissioner of Meghalaya House, Samapat Kumar, who had donated blood for him, accompanied the body on an Indigo flight.
Further, Meghalaya House extended full assistance to the family and completed the hospital and flight formalities.
Marak, a hardworking and popular staff member, had been suffering from dengue and later developed liver complications. A resident of DC Colony, Resubelpara, North Garo Hills, his last rites will be performed at his birthplace tomorrow.
