WINDSOR (UK), Sep 17: US President Donald Trump began his unprecedented second state visit to the UK on Wednesday, greeted by King Charles III at Windsor Castle.
Arriving via Marine One, Trump and First Lady Melania were welcomed by Prince William, Princess Catherine, Queen Camilla, and King Charles amid royal pageantry, including a military honor guard and a state banquet.
The two-day visit aims to strengthen UK-US ties despite tensions over global issues like NATO and Ukraine.
Trump will also meet Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss a new tech deal and US investments.
The visit is notable for its setting in Windsor rather than London, possibly to limit protests.
It follows controversy, including the dismissal of UK Ambassador Peter Mandelson over ties to Jeffrey Epstein and a protest projection linking Trump to Epstein.
Trump called the invitation “a great honour,” expressing fondness for the UK and describing Charles as a respected longtime friend. (AP)
