SHILLONG, Sep 17: The Meghalaya government has replaced Additional Public Prosecutor Tushar Chandra with Special Prosecutor KC Gautam to represent it during the hearing on the bail plea of Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime accused in the sensational murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, which has been deferred to Friday.
The matter was earlier scheduled for hearing on Wednesday before the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Sohra Sub-Division.
Talking to The Shillong Times, Gautam confirmed that the bail hearing will take place in Sohra.
He said the defence has sought bail on the ground that the police submitted an “incomplete chargesheet”.
“This is not a very strong ground. I have gone through the chargesheet and the IO has filed it properly in court. It will be difficult to establish that the police submitted an incomplete chargesheet,” Gautam said.
