World leaders greet PM Modi on his 75th birthday

MOSCOW/LONDON, Sep 17: On his 75th birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was greeted by several world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
Putin praised Modi’s “great personal contribution” to strengthening the partnership between India and Russia, stating that India has made impressive achievements in social, economic, scientific, and technical fields under his leadership. Trump called Modi a “tremendous job” and thanked him for his support in ending the war in Ukraine.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wished Modi a happy birthday, calling him a “good friend” and looking forward to seeing him soon.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also wished Modi health and energy to continue leading India toward a bright future and strengthening relations between nations.
Indian-origin former UK prime minister Rishi Sunak expressed his pleasure in wishing Modi a happy 75th birthday, expressing delight in the strength of UK-India ties and his 2023 visit to India as the prime minister for the G20 summit.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed his country’s pride in sharing a strong friendship with India and expressed gratitude for the Indian community’s contributions.
Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake wished Modi continued health, strength, and success in his service to the people of India and shaping a shared future of peace and prosperity in the region.
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates wished Modi good health and continued strength as he leads India’s progress and contributes to global development.
Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay also wished for Modi’s “good health, happiness, and long life.” (PTI)
