Nepal interim govt focused on March 5 polls

KATHMANDU, Sep 18: Nepal’s interim government is preparing for parliamentary elections on March 5, 2026, with a focus on speedy preparations and ensuring law and order.
Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal urged political parties and stakeholders to prepare for the historic election, which will be held following the Gen Z protests.
The government is committed to ensuring free and fair elections for Nepal and the international community.
The government is also considering ways to extend voting rights to Nepalis residing abroad.
Chief Justice Sushila Karki became Nepal’s first woman prime minister to lead an interim government, ending political uncertainty following the resignation of K P Sharma Oli’s dispensation following anti-government protests. (PTI)
