SHILLONG, Sep 22: The National People’s Party (NPP) on Monday paid tribute to its State General Secretary and founding member, Kupar Blah, who passed away on Tuesday after a prolonged illness.
A condolence meeting was held at the party office on Bivar Road, attended by State NPP Working President Hamletson Dohling and senior party leader Babet K. Sangma, along with several other members.
Paying homage, Babet K Sangma recalled Blah’s “unwavering commitment and tireless efforts” in building the party. Dohling, in his tribute, described him as a leader whose “dedication, warmth, and commitment touched everyone around him,” adding that he would be deeply missed by the NPP family.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma also expressed his condolences in a post on X, calling Blah “a dedicated colleague who played a major role in strengthening the NPP, especially in the Khasi-Jaintia Hills.” He extended sympathies to Blah’s family and prayed for his eternal peace
Party leaders and supporters remembered Kupar Blah as one of the guiding forces behind the NPP in Meghalaya, leaving behind a legacy of loyalty, service, and dedication.
