3 RGU faculty members among world’s top 2% scientists as ranked by Stanford University

GUWAHATI, Sept 26: Three faculty members of The Assam Royal Global University
(RGU) have been named among the World’s Top 2% Scientists for 2025 by Stanford
University, USA. The prestigious list was published recently on 19th September 2025.

The three RGU scientists are: Professor (Dr) Amlan Das, Department of Microbiology,
Associate Dean, Research &Development, RGU; Dr. Faizuddin Ahmed, Assistant Professor
(Research), Department of Physics, RGU, and Dr. Mukta Agrawal, Assistant Professor, Royal
School of Pharmacy, RGU, according to a Press release.
It is noteworthy that while Dr. Faizuddin Ahmed has secured this place on Stanford
University’s esteemed list of the world’s leading scientists for the sixth consecutive year, Dr.
Mukta Agrawal has secured this rank for the fourth consecutive year.
Dr. Faizuddin Ahmed’s pioneering research is primarily centered on Theoretical Physics,
with a particular focus on General Theory of Relativity. Throughout his career, Dr. Ahmed
has made substantial contributions to the field, publishing more than 225 research papers in
distinguished Scopus-indexed journals.
Dr. Mukta Agrawal’s primary research interests lie in Novel Drug Delivery Systems,
Nanoparticles, Brain Targeting, and Nose-to-Brain Drug Delivery for the treatment of
Alzheimer’s disease. Her pioneering work on lipid-based nanocarriers and innovative in-situ
gelling systems has received national and international acclaim.
The primary research areas of Prof. Amlan Das include antimicrobial resistance and
cancer management. Prof. Das pursued his postdoctoral research in Cancer Biology at The
Ohio State University and later at the VA Medical Center, USA. To date, he has published
more than 50 research articles in reputed peer-reviewed journals.
