City sizzles as rains relent

SHILLONG, Sep 26: After a continuous spell of rainfall last week, Shillong and different parts of Meghalaya are now experiencing hot and humid weather.
For the last three days, the maximum temperature in Shillong has been hovering around the 28 degrees mark with the maximum temperature on Friday standing at 28.8 degrees.
Umiam recorded a high of 33.1 degrees while Sohra registered 30.8 degrees on Friday.
The IMD officials have said that following a brief spell of hot and humid weather, the state would once again witness rainfall before the departure of the monsoon sometime in the first or second week of October.
