TURA, Sep 29: Social activist from South Garo Hills Greneth M Sangma has submitted an appeal to the First Appellate Authority of the Health and Family Welfare Department in Shillong alleging partial disclosure of information under RTI by the PIO concerned, regarding the recruitment of AYUSH medical doctors in South Garo HIlls, which was sought for.
According to Greneth, the reply was unsatisfactory as there was no disclosure of names and addresses of the candidates as well as ambiguity regarding the reservation policy. “The response merely states that “the post is based on reservation roster” without clarifying the precise nature and application of the reservation policy in the recruitment of AYUSH Medical Officers in South Garo Hills. A clear explanation of the applicable reservation norms, including category-wise distribution, is necessary to ascertain compliance with the constitutional and statutory provisions governing recruitment,” he informed.
Greneth appealed to the concerned department to direct the PIO to reconsider the disclosure of names and addresses of the candidates, ensuring that the principles of transparency and accountability are upheld while duly weighing privacy concerns.
