TURA, Sep 30: The District Congress Committee (DCC), Tura, denounced the alleged ‘misleading and misinformation’ made against Tura MP Saleng A Sangma by one, Berni Rangsa Marak, on September 29 through a Facebook post.
Tura MP Saleng Sangma had recently remarked on the Cabinet reshuffle of the state government that the NPP was adopting a style of governance akin to ‘Nazism’. “Two or three members from the same family in the Cabinet reflects a dictatorial approach,” Sangma had stated.
The Tura MP, while also revealing he had expected Ronnie V Lyngdoh and Marthon Sangma to be inducted into the Cabinet, questioned if the state government’s motive behind dropping senior ministers was in the interest of the state or for personal reasons.
The DCC, while strongly condemning the Facebook post by Marak on Tuesday, asserted that the Tura MP made no mention of a specific community in his statement.
“These thin, baseless, and unsupported charges have tarnished the public image of the Tura MP,” DCC General Secretary Edmund S Sangma said, while demanding a public explanation as well as an apology from Marak.
