Kanpur, Oct 5: A remarkable century from Prabhsimran Singh and clinical contributions from Shreyas Iyer and Riyan Parag powered India A to a thrilling two-wicket victory over Australia A in the third and final unofficial ODI at Green Park Stadium, sealing the three-match series 2-1.
Chasing a challenging target of 317 in 46 overs, India A relied on Prabhsimran Singh’s explosive 102 off just 68 balls, while Iyer and Parag each chipped in with 62 runs to guide the Men in Blue home. Despite some valiant efforts from Australian spinners Tanveer Sangha and Todd Murphy, who claimed four wickets apiece, the visitors could not defend their total.
Earlier, Australia A captain Scott Edwards led a late-order resurgence, scoring a quick-fire 89 from 75 balls, laced with 8 fours and 3 sixes. Edwards shared a sensational 152-run stand for the seventh wicket with Liam Scott, who contributed 73 from 64 deliveries, including six sixes, propelling Australia A to a competitive 316 all out in 49.1 overs. Cooper Connolly also added a valuable 64 runs, showcasing his power-hitting with 5 fours and 4 sixes.
India A’s bowlers fought hard to contain the Australian lineup.
