The inaugural function of the sesquicentennial celebration of the Gorkha Pathshala Higher Secondary School will be held from 10:30 am onwards on the school premises. Governor CH Vijayashankar will attend the event as the chief guest.
The Office of the District National Programme for Palliative Care (NPPC), East Khasi Hills, in collaboration with the Palliative Care Clinic, will observe the World Hospice and Palliative Care Day with a programme, which will be held from 11 am onwards at Oncology Department of Shillong Civil Hospital.
Tributes will be paid to Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore from 3:30 pm onwards at Brookside Rilbong to commemorate the 106th anniversary of Tagore’s visit to Shillong. In this regard, admirers of Tagore have been asked to participate in the event.
