Shillong, Oct 11: The Power Grid Inter-Regional Football Tournament 2025 got off to a spirited start at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) NEHU Ground here on Saturday, marking the beginning of five days of competitive football and camaraderie.
The opening ceremony was graced by senior officials of POWERGRID, including Shri Rajesh Gupta, Executive Director (NERTS), Shri S.K. Majhi, Sr. GM (HR), and Shri Manish Tiwari, Sr. GM (AM), along with other dignitaries.
A total of 154 players representing 11 teams from different regions across the country are participating in this year’s edition, promising an exciting display of skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Officials highlighted that the tournament reflects POWERGRID’s continued commitment to fostering holistic employee development through sports and cultural engagement. The annual football meet, they said, not only strengthens team spirit but also underlines the organization’s ethos of excellence—both on and off the field.
