Jyoti Sroat School bags accolade for innovative edn

SHILLONG, Oct 14: Jyoti Sroat School, operated by Bethany Society, Shillong, has been honoured with the ‘GIEN-Purple Innovator Award 2025-26’ for promoting innovative methodologies and inclusive practices in education.
The award was jointly presented by the Global Inclusive Education Network (GIEN) and the International Purple Festival, Goa, during a ceremony held on October 12.
The Principal of Jyoti Sroat School, Larisa Nongspung, received the award on behalf of the institution from Goa’s Minister of Social Welfare, Shubhas U Phal Desai.
The GIEN-Purple Innovator Award recognises individuals and institutions whose outstanding contributions and unwavering commitment have advanced the cause of inclusive education. The event was attended by national and international delegates, educators, policymakers, and advocates of inclusive learning.
