Coaching prog for WGH health staff

TURA, Oct 15: The India Primary Health Care Support Initiative (IPSI) officially launched its Coaching Primary Health Teams Program in West Garo Hills on Tuesday. The programme is being implemented by the Indian Institute of Public Health-Shillong (IIPHS) in collaboration with the Meghalaya government.
The launch event was inaugurated by the Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM), Ramakrishna Chitturi and attended by Assistant Commissioner, West Garo Hills, Benjamin D Tariang (MCS), Joint Director of Health Services Garo Hills Division Dr. S. Boro, District Medical & Health Officer (DMHO) Dr. Jakrambal, Addl. DMHO, Sr. Medical & Health officers, MOs, and frontline health workers.
The Coaching Primary Health Team Program aims to strengthen the delivery of Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) services and reinforce the Ayushman Bharat–Health and Wellness Centre initiative in the region.
The goal of IPSI is to strengthen primary health care systems across India to advance progress toward Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
The 10-month structured, evidence-based Coaching Program will be implemented across 27 Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs)in four blocks—Rongram, Tikrikilla, Selsella, and Dalu. It is designed to strengthen team coordination and performance among frontline health workers, builds technical and leadership capacities of MLHPs, ANMs, MPWs, and ASHAs, and improve the quality and coverage of 12 mandated CPHC service packages.
