Shillong, Oct 17: East Khasi Hills District emerged as the overall champions of the inaugural National Health Mission Employees Association (NHM) Sports Meet, which concluded with a colourful closing ceremony at the Nongkseh Sports Ground here on Friday.
The three-day event, held under the theme “Wellness through Sports, Service through Health,” brought together healthcare professionals from across Meghalaya to compete in disciplines such as football, basketball, badminton, and a spirited tug of war.
The East Khasi Hills contingent showcased remarkable teamwork and consistency to lift the championship trophy, marking a memorable finish to the meet’s maiden edition.
The event concluded with the promise of making the NHM Sports Meet an annual tradition, celebrating the intersection of health, fitness, and service.
