SHILLONG, Oct 22: Three months after the official inauguration of the Polo Shopping Complex by the Union Finance Minister, the state government has invited bids and applications for the leasing of shops at the complex.
Through the Invitation for Bids, Shillong Smart City Limited (SSCL) has invited applications from interested individuals, businesses, and organisations for the allotment of commercial shops on a monthly rental basis at the newly developed Polo Commercial Complex, Shillong. The shops will be allotted in a warm shell condition, allowing tenants to customise the interiors as per their requirements.
The Polo Commercial Complex, constructed by SSCL, comprises a stilt plus six floors with a total built-up area of 15,881 square metres (170,497 sq. ft) on a 5,095 square metre land parcel. The current phase of the project, which includes a six-storey building, has been completed and houses a total of 109 shops. Of these, the government has decided to allot 93 shops through the present tender process, while the remaining 16 shops will be retained for government use or allotted at its discretion.
Among the 93 shops open for bidding, 69 will be allotted at market rates (non-subsidized shops), while 24 will be offered at a subsidized rate (subsidized shops).
In addition, the government has also issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the selection of an agency for the establishment, operation, and maintenance of a Food Court and Gaming Zone on a license basis at the Polo Commercial Complex.
