SHILLONG, Oct 23: Dr. Sanku Dey of St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, has once again earned a place among the world’s leading researchers, featuring in Stanford University’s prestigious 2025 list of the top 2 percent scientists globally.
Ranked 54,006th this year, Dr. Dey marks his fifth consecutive appearance on the list—an achievement that underscores his consistent contribution to global research.
Significantly, Dr. Dey continues to be the only researcher from Meghalaya to feature in this international ranking since 2021.
Dr. Dey heads the Department of Statistics at St. Anthony’s College and has maintained remarkable academic excellence over the years, solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in the field of statistics.
His 2025 ranking also reflects an upward trajectory from the 57,410th position in 2024, signalling a sustained and growing research impact.
With 5,974 citations across 319 publications Dr. Dey’s work continues to earn global recognition for its quality and influence.
Compiled by Stanford University using Elsevier’s Scopus database, the list evaluates scientists based on standardised indicators such as citation counts, h-index scores, and composite research performance.
