Broader indices shine, 16 smallcaps surge past 15% this week

MUMBAI, Oct 25: India’s broadcap indices outperformed benchmarks in a festival-truncated week, with BSE midcap and smallcap indices rising 0.5% and 1%.
Positive Q2 earnings and foreign institutional inflows drove gains, as 41 smallcaps rose 10–36%, including 16 above 15%. Sensex closed at 84,211 (+0.3%) and Nifty50 at 25,795 (+0.33%), both up nearly 5% in October.
FIIs bought Rs 343 crore, while DIIs continued a 27-week buying streak with Rs 5,945 crore.
IT, PSU Banks, and Metals led sector gains, while FMCG and Auto fell. Investors remain focused on India-US trade talks and global interest rate moves. (PTI)
