Ampati, Oct 25: The curtain came down on the Ampati Super League (ASL) Football Tournament 2025 on Friday with Okrong Oktong FC emerging as the champions after defeating Saliram Boys 3–1 in an exhilarating final at the Ampati Playground.
The tournament, organised by the Ampati District Football Association (ADFA) in collaboration with the District Sports Office, began on August 18, 2025, and saw participation from eight teams representing various parts of South West Garo Hills. Over the course of two months, the competition witnessed thrilling encounters, passionate crowds, and a showcase of emerging football talent from the region.
In the much-anticipated final, Okrong Oktong FC displayed remarkable composure and attacking flair, dominating proceedings with quick passes and well-coordinated plays.
Their clinical finishing in front of goal made the difference as they sealed a convincing 3–1 victory to lift the coveted ASL Champions Trophy.
The Chief Guest, Mahendraganj MLA Sanjay A Sangma, graced the occasion and presented the winners and runners-up with trophies and medals.
