NEW DELHI, Oct 28: Gold prices dropped ₹4,100 to ₹1,21,800 per 10 grams in Delhi and fell below USD 4,000 per ounce globally on Tuesday, as easing US-China trade tensions and reduced safe-haven demand weighed on the market.
Silver also plunged ₹6,250 to ₹1,45,000 per kg.
Analysts attributed the decline to technical selling after gold failed to hold above USD 4,000 and optimism over trade deals with China and Japan.
Spot gold fell 2.37% to USD 3,887.03, while silver hit USD 45.56 per ounce. Further corrections of 5–10% are expected. (PTI)
