SHILLONG, Oct 31: The Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) has called on the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) to intervene after the clash of examination dates between the MPSC and the West Jaintia Hills District Selection Commission (DSC) left several candidates unable to appear for both tests.
In a memorandum submitted to the MPSC Chairman on Friday, the JSU expressed concern that the overlapping schedules had caused unnecessary hardship to aspirants.
The union urged the Commission to take up the issue with district authorities and introduce better coordination in planning examination timetables.
The JSU argued that effective communication between the MPSC and DSCs would prevent such conflicts and ensure that all eligible candidates have the chance to participate in every recruitment examination.
It also pressed the Commission to treat the matter with urgency and put mechanisms in place to avoid similar disruptions in the future.
