NH-6 repair work to be completed by Nov 15: NHAI

SHILLONG, Nov 4: The NHAI has submitted before the High Court of Meghalaya that the remaining work for the strengthening and improvement of the Jowai-Ratacherra stretch of National Highway-6 would be completed before November 15.
During the hearing on a writ relating to the strengthening and improvement of the 102-km Jowai-Ratacherra stretch of NH-6 on Tuesday, the Division Bench of Chief Justice Soumen Sen and Justice Wanlura Diengdoh took on record the status report filed by the Project Director, NHAI, pursuant to an earlier order.
S. Sengupta, counsel for NHAI, submitted before the court that the remaining work would be completed on or before November 15.
S. Panthi, Amicus Curiae, submitted that the road condition is yet to be improved and there are few stretches that are still in a bad condition.
The court ordered a joint inspection to be carried out by the concerned parties, including the Amicus Curiae, on or after November 15 and submission of a report on the next date of hearing on November 26.
