Prabhati Thaosen takes oath as APSC chairperson

Guwahati, Nov. 6: Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Thursday administered the oath of office to former IAS officer Prabhati Thaosen as the chairperson of Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) at a programme held at Raj Bhavan here.

Notably, Thaosen had been serving as a member of APSC since her appointment in June this year.

During her career, she had served as the secretary, border protection and development and tourism departments and state enquiry officer.

Earlier, Assam chief secretary Ravi Kota sought the permission of the Governor to start the proceedings of the ceremony.

Assam Cabinet minister Ranoj Pegu; additional chief secretaries Ajay Tewari, B. Kalyan Charavarthy; members of APSC, Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor S.S. Meenakshi Sundaram; commissioner and secretary, GAD, M.S. Manivannan, and senior government officers were present on the occasion.
