SHILLONG, Nov 5: The Voice of the People Party (VPP) has urged the state government to make public the report of the Expert Committee on Job Reservation Policy, expressing concern over the delay in its release nearly five months after submission.
In a letter addressed to the government, the party congratulated the Expert Committee for successfully completing and submitting its report two years after its formation. However, the VPP said it was “surprising” that the government has yet to share the findings with the public and stakeholders. “The time taken by the government is too long,” the letter stated, adding that transparency on the issue is crucial given its public importance.
The VPP further requested the government to make the report public at the earliest, so that citizens and concerned groups can access its contents and engage in informed discussions on the state’s reservation framework.
