Anil Ambani gets fresh ED summons
NEW DELHI, Nov 6: The ED has issued fresh summons to Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani for questioning next week in an alleged bank fraud linked-money laundering case, sources said. Ambani was questioned by the probe agency in August for around ten hours. He has been asked to depose on November 14 for questioning in a money laundering case linked to a case against Reliance Communication Ltd (RCom) for an alleged Rs 2,929 crore loan fraud with the SBI, they said. Once he deposes, ED will record his statement under Prevention of Money Laundering Act like the last time, sources said. (PTI)
Man kills self after harassment over viral video
JALNA, Nov 6: A 27-year-old man allegedly committed suicide in Jalna district of Maharashtra, apparently after getting fed up with constant online harassment over a viral video of a distasteful act featuring him and his friend, police said on Thursday. According to police, a video showing the victim, Mahesh Ade, and his friend urinating under a blue board bearing the name “Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Railway Station” recently went viral. The act, allegedly committed under the influence of liquor, sparked widespread outrage online. Following the backlash, several individuals began abusing and threatening the duo on social media platforms and even over phone, they said. In an effort to calm the situation, Ade and his friend posted an apology video. However, the harassment and threats continued. Unable to bear the humiliation, Ade allegedly took the step. (PTI)
