Shillong, Nov 8: To resolve pension-related issues faced by ex-servicemen, defence civilians, and their dependents, the Ministry of Defence, through the Office of the Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA), Guwahati, will organise a Defence Pensioners’ Outreach and Grievance Redressal Programme at the Area Accounts Office, Shillong, on November 14.
The initiative, conducted under the SPARSH Project (System for Pension Administration–Raksha), aims to create awareness about the fully digital pension disbursement and sanctioning system established for defence pensioners.
Speaking about the programme, Gautam Doley, Deputy Controller of Defence Accounts (Indian Defence Accounts Service), Area Accounts Office, Shillong, said the outreach will help pensioners address discrepancies related to pension payments, document verification, and service records.
All pensioners, including ex-servicemen, Veer Naris (war widows), and dependents with pending pension matters, are encouraged to attend the event. Participants are advised to bring essential documents for verification, including Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Bank Passbook, Discharge Book, Pension Payment Order (PPO), and a mobile number linked with SPARSH and Aadhaar.
