Foundation laid for additional secretariat complex in Tura

Tura, Nov 8: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma today attended the Opening Prayer Ceremony for the construction of the Additional Secretariat Complex at Dakopgre, Tura.

The event marked the concrete pouring ceremony for the upcoming complex, a major milestone in the government’s efforts to strengthen administrative infrastructure and improve governance in the Garo Hills region.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said, “We are here in Tura at the site where the Additional Secretariat will be coming up. Today is a very auspicious and important day, because we have laid the first foundation for this project.

“I am very thankful to our religious leaders, Reverend Dilseng and Father Januarius, for coming and praying and blessing this foundation.

This Additional Secretariat is a great moment for the people of the state as a whole, and particularly for the people of the Garo Hills, as it will serve the people of this region and the state in many positive ways.”

The Chief Minister also inspected the ongoing works and expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of construction being undertaken.

The programme included an opening prayer led by Rev. Dilseng M. Sangma, followed by the ceremonial pouring of concrete by dignitaries led by the Chief Minister. The ceremony concluded with a closing prayer offered by Fr. Januarius S. Sangma, Principal of Don Bosco College, Tura.

Others in attendance included Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills Vibhor Aggarwal, IAS, Superintendent of Police, West Garo Hills Abraham T. Sangma, IPS, and senior government officials.
