NPP, Cong gain numbers ahead of GHADC polls

SHILLONG, Nov 8: Ahead of the elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), leaders and workers across political parties have started jumping ship.
On Friday, over 600 dedicated workers from various political parties joined the National People’s Party (NPP). Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma welcomed them into the party’s fold and urged everyone to work together in unity and purpose to strengthen the NPP.
Meanwhile, former UDP leader John Leslee K. Sangma, who had contested the last MLA election, joined the Congress.
Other former MLA contender from Dalu, Kenethson R. Sangma, and Dr. Pilne A. Sangma, who was an MDC candidate for the Tura constituency, have also joined the party.
