SHILLONG, Nov 10: Students of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Umroi Cantt have brought laurels to the school and the state by securing the second position in the Wild Wisdom Global Challenge (WWGC) 2025 – Zonal Round (East Zone), organized by WWF-India.
Representing the Northeast, the team, comprising Adarsh Singh (Class IX) and Anisha Pathak (Class VIII), performed outstandingly among top teams from across the East Zone, demonstrating exceptional environmental awareness, scientific understanding, and quick thinking.
The Zonal Round, conducted virtually, witnessed enthusiastic participation from schools across Assam, Meghalaya, Odisha and West Bengal. The team from Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti, Guwahati (Assam) secured the first position, qualifying for the national finals, while Kendriya Vidyalaya Keonjhar (Odisha) secured the third position.
This year’s challenge saw participation from over 3,500 schools and 4 lakh students across 36 States and Union Territories, making it one of the largest school-based environmental quizzes in the world.
The Quiz was conducted by WWF-India and hosted by quiz master Ajay Poonia, while the event was coordinated by Aarti Dalal of WWF-India.
