Centre to establish 100 Sainik Schools on PPP mode
BORIYAVI (Gujarat), Nov 13: The Narendra Modi government has decided to set up 100 Sainik Schools across the country on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Thursday. Speaking via video conference at the inauguration function of Shri Motibhai R Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School (MRCSSS) and Sagar Organic Plant, he said these schools will open the path for children from several districts of Gujarat to serve in the armed forces. The Shri Motibhai R Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School (MRCSSS) has been built at a cost of Rs 50 crore and is equipped with facilities such as smart classrooms, hostels, a library and a canteen, a government release said. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Centre has decided to establish 100 new Sainik Schools across the country under the PPP model. Among these, Motibhai Chaudhary Sainik School will certainly become a symbol of pride for Mehsana,” the release quoted Shah as saying. (PTI)
CISCE class 12 exams from Feb 12; class 10 from Feb 17
New Delhi, Nov 13: The CISCE board exams for class 10 will begin from February 17 and those for class 12 from February 12, officials said on Thursday. About 2.6 lakh candidates will appear for the ICSE (class X) examination while about 1.5 lakh candidates are set to take the ISC (class XII) examination this year. “This year’s examination schedule has been carefully crafted to ensure a balanced academic calendar, allowing candidates a reasonable preparation time between major subjects to the extent possible,” said Joseph Emannuel, Chief Executive and Secretary, Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). “The class 10 exams will be conducted from February 17 to March 30. The class 12 exams will be conducted from February 12 to April 6. The date sheet provides the complete schedule of examinations covering 75 subjects for ICSE and 50 subjects for ISC,” he added.
