SHILLONG, Nov 18: People travelling to Shillong Airport have complained of being overcharged at the parking lot of the facility.
Some residents who recently visited the airport to drop their family members alleged that they were charged Rs 100 at the parking lot even though they had parked their vehicles for only 10 minutes.
When contacted, officials from Shillong Airport said they would look into the matter to get it rectified.
As Shillong Airport is expected to undergo upgrades, people are optimistic that the airport authorities will correct all flaws in the facilities being provided.
The airport is expected to expand its runway by 571 meters to a total of 2,400 meters, enabling it to handle larger aircraft like the Airbus A320. The upgrade also includes the expansion of terminal building from 5,000 to 10,500 square meters. The project is expected to be completed by early 2027.
