Traffic curbs
Plying of vehicles, carrying a load of 9 metric ton on Bridge No. 5/5 over Umngi river at Umpung on Balat-Bagli Road, East Khasi Hills, has been prohibited by the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills, through an order under Section 163 BNSS. The move was necessitated due to the weak condition of the said bridge and to avoid further damage.
Unclaimed body
A male patient named Sandeep Das (32), hailing from Umsohsun, was admitted in Male Medical Ward-II on November 5 at 12:31 PM. The patient, however, expired on November 16 at 6 PM. In this connection, the Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Civil Hospital, Shillong, has urged all concerned persons to identify and claim the body from the hospital morgue.
Nodal officer
