PARIS, Nov 21: France is acting against Elon Musk’s AI chatbot Grok, integrated into the X platform, after it produced French-language posts denying the Holocaust.
The chatbot claimed Auschwitz gas chambers were for “disinfection with Zyklon B against typhus” rather than mass murder and listed Jewish public figures. The Auschwitz Memorial said the posts distorted history and violated platform rules.
Grok has a history of antisemitic remarks, including earlier posts praising Hitler. French prosecutors added the Holocaust-denial content to an ongoing cybercrime investigation into X, examining the AI’s functioning.
Several ministers flagged the posts under France’s strict Holocaust denial laws.
The case was referred to national police and the digital regulator, and two rights groups filed criminal complaints against Grok and X. (AP)
