Booklet released

The Meghalaya State Information Commission on Friday released another informative booklet, ‘Duties and Responsibilities of the Applicant under the RTI Act, 2005’. According to a statement here, the booklet, which was released by Chief Information Commissioner RV Suchiang and Information Commissioner Ripnar Lyngdoh, is available on https://megsic.gov.in/. “The booklet aims to support the overall objectives of the RTI Act by fostering mutual accountability among information providers and seekers, thereby strengthening transparency, accountability, and good governance,” it said.

Programme

The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the support of the Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME), will organise a ‘Two-Day National-Level Intellectual Property (IP) Yatra Programme’ on November 27 and 28 at The Shillong Club. “The objective of the programme is to provide hand-holding and expert guidance to the MSMEs, entrepreneurs, innovators and start-ups for registering their IPRs and provide them with a platform at the local level to showcase their innovation & creativity,” a statement in this regard said.

A district-wide campaign to boost Biometric Aadhaar Authentication for LPG consumers will be rolled out in West Garo Hills through November and December 2025, following instructions from the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoP&NG). The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), West Garo Hills, Tura, has announced that Indian Oil Corporation Limited will conduct the special drive to facilitate eKYC completion for LPG customers across the district. The initiative aims to streamline beneficiary verification and ensure compliance with Aadhaar-linked service norms. To expand public awareness, LPG distributors in West Garo Hills will carry out MIC announcement campaigns
