SHILLONG, Nov 24: A landslide triggered by ongoing road construction along the Laitlyngkot-Lyngkyrdem stretch of the Shillong-Dawki road has disrupted traffic near Pomlum village on Sunday.
According to officials, the slide occurred in the afternoon, blocking movement along the busy route. Clearance operations began immediately, but authorities cautioned that it may take a few more hours before safe passage is fully restored.
Commuters travelling through the area were urged to remain patient and cooperate with personnel on the ground as efforts continue to remove debris and stabilise the affected portion of the road.
