NEW DELHI, Nov 25 : India will begin formal trade agreement negotiations with the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) from Wednesday, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said.
The five-nation bloc—Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan—signed terms of reference in August, outlining an 18-month plan to diversify markets for Indian businesses, including MSMEs, farmers, and fishermen.
India is also exploring trade pacts with SACU, Mercosur, and Israel, aiming to expand exports, enhance collaboration in agriculture, innovation, mobility, and services, and reduce reliance on high-tariff markets like the US. (PTI)
