Tura, Nov 27: Social activist Flaming Marak has urged the MeECL Department to facilitate the conduct of the written examination for Junior Engineers who have completed BE/E Tech Degree, for promotion to the post of Assistant Engineers.

According to Marak, although the recruitment process was undertaken by the department, only 13 junior engineers were promoted to the post of Assistant Engineer. Claiming that more posts of Assistant Engineers are still lying vacant, Marak urged that they be filled up too.

Flaming further went on to claim that there were a number of vacant posts of LDA, Regular Meter Readers, regular lineman,  Bill Clerk pending in different parts of Garo Hills and sought that they be filled up as well.
