5 minors held for stabbing teen to death
NEW DELHI, Nov 29: Police have apprehended five minors for allegedly stabbing a 17-year-old boy to death in outernorth Delhi’s Bhalswa Dairy area over the victim’s relationship with one of the accused’s sister.Police recieved a call that a group of four to five boys had stabbed the victim multiple times, leaving him unconscious.The victim was rushed to the hospital by a relative, where doctors declared him dead.Police said the victim had sustained several stab wounds. Around 9 pm on Friday, the accused, accompanied by his associates and armed with knives, confronted the victim near and allegedly stabbed him multiple times, before fleeing the spot.A case was registered. Ahead of local body polls, Shiv Sena man murdered
THANE, Nov 29: A functionary of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena was stabbed to death by unidentified persons in Titwala in Thane district, a police official said on Saturday.The incident took place late Friday night.“Four to five persons stopped his vehicle at Mamnoli village and stabbed him several times. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival,” police said. Deceased Kiran Ghorad (35), was an active member of the party, his colleagues said.The timing of the killing, ahead of zilla parishad, gram panchyat and municipal council polls on December 2, has raised speculation of a political angle. Cop, 3 of family held for abetting suicide of his wife
THANE, Nov 29: A cop was held along with his parents and another family member on the charge of abetting his 19-year-old wife’s suicide.The woman, Swati Chate, ended her life by hanging herself at the couple’s Mira Road residence on November 27.The victim was subjected to constant mental and physical torture by her husband and his family members. Her husband, Prabhu Chate, also suspected the woman’s character and doubted the paternity of her unborn child.Swati married Prabhu in April this year. Soon afterwards, her husband and in-laws started harassing her. He would come home drunk and assault her.The couple moved to Mira Road on November 2, where he continued to beat her and kept asking her to undergo a medical test to confirm who the biological father of the child was.On November 27, Swati told her mother on phone that she was unable to bear the torture and later hanged herself to death. Delhi breathes ‘very poor’ air
NEW DELHI, Nov 29: Delhi’s overall air quality remained in the “very poor” quality on Saturday morning, with an AQI reading of 332.This is marginally lower than Friday’s Air Quality Index (AQI), which stood at 369, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) 9 AM bulletin data showed.According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), an Air Quality Index AQI between 0 and 50 is considered “good”, 51-100 “satisfactory”, 101-200 “moderate”, 201-300 “poor”, 301-400 “very poor”, and 401-500 “severe”.The city recorded a minimum temperature of 10.4 degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
